Mihai sent me some pictures from when we were in the mountains today. Here are a couple:
This is a view over the ski slope near the small lodge where we stayed, on Platoul Bucegi at about 2000 m. We took the cableway up to 1400 meters, and walked the rest, which was kind of fun, but also a bit exhausting (for *me*, that is), especially when it started to rain hail and the wind became really cold.
We stayed two nights there, and then we walked over to another lodge near another mountain peak, Piatra Arsa.
This is near the lodge at Piatra Arsa.
There I ate as much as I could stuff into myself, while Mihai didn't eat anything the whole day, as he was fasting in these Easter times.
When I couldn't fit anything more into myself, we started descending, and Mihai dragged me along vertical slopes where you could look down almost all the way down to the valley.
All the way down the mountain a little black stray dog, hardly more than a puppy, followed us. By the time we were closing in on Sinaia in the valley, we started to get worried, as maybe we would be obliged by our conscience to bring the dog back to Bucharest with us. It would have broken our hearts if we'd have to watch the little dog trying to run after our bus when we'd leave Sinaia ...
But when we entered the town, all the local dogs started to bark at this strange little mountain dog, and she hesitated for a while, and then ran back. I hope she got back to the lodge safely ... At least the road was considerably shorter and easier for her than it was for us humans.
